Hadrian's Wall was an ambitious and monumental plan conceived by the emperor of the same name. At over 70 miles in length, the wall snakes across the breadth of Britain from the Solway Firth to the mouth of the Tyne. It was completed in 132 AD and today many parts of the wall can be visited with forts and lookout points along the length of the structure.
